Scrapbox Monthly Sketch Challenge

I didn't think I would get this one done but yesterday while at my LSS I asked about basic grey's Marrakesh and porcelain ranges because I had read on their blog they had them in - I hadn't read it properly and the official launch was only next week but they allowed me to buy some so I got a few of each range. When I first saw these papers on line I didn't think they were that great but now I have seen them in real life they are my favourite Basic Grey Lines. If you want to get the papers and other products Scrappin' Patch has just got them in at great prices (though the current shipment of Marrakesh is presold but there is more coming) - they also have heaps of new cha stuff including Prima goodies.

So last night I did the Scrapbox Challenge using the porcelain papers I got - they are so pretty.

Have fun!!

Inchies and ATC's

Over the last few months I have been involved with a few ATC swaps and Inchie swaps at scrapbook Dreams and one at SBBD and have not shared won my blog.

My first ATC swap was Fairy Tales and here is what I got (the bewitch one is mine)

p1100252

My second swap was flora and fauna (mine is the one with the felt tree and stamped bird)

p1100253

The third swap was to use a photo on a ATC - mine is the NZ themed one

p1100254

The fourth swap I hosted and it was a celebrity swap. I did Johnny Depp movies and kept the sleepy hollow ATC.

p1100255

Yet another swap saw some christmas ATCs being done and a summer ATC swap as well. My Christmas one is the reindeer one (it has been damaged) and the big stamped sun is mine in the summer swap.

p1100251

p11002471

Our favourite Drink was next - mine is the Zero coke one.

p1100250

My last one that I participated in at Scrapbook Dreams theme was bugs and mine is the one in the centre

p1100246

My first one at SBBD was cats - I chose the tiger as it is my favourite cat.

p1100245

I have done four inchie swaps at Scrapbook Dreams - 3 three inch ones and 1 one inch lot. Inchies are similiar to ATCs they are just square and can be more dimensional. The little ones theme was little things and I used a little bead shaped like a ladybug. The black and white set I have put on a black canvas - with mine being the creative heart. The other themes are Christmas (green with stamped Christmas trees)and rainbow (green was my colour).

Week six Stars in their eyes - Beate Style + another layout

The layouts have been revealed for this part of the competition and they are stunning - I'm glad I'm not judging. This part of the challenge was to scrap in the style of Beate a scrapbooker in Norway whose favourite style is vintage. I think it is one of my favourites too and loved doing this layout and my paper pesto kit for February arrived just in time so I could use the papers and flowers from it. I found some gorgeous lace trim in an Emporium in Tuaranga and some roses on a ribbon from Stamp and create in Milford which were perfect for this challenge.
Here is my layout:

The next and final star is Kelly Goree which should be interesting and very different from this challenge.

And here is my layout for SBBD monthly sketch.

Scrappin' Patch Technique Tuesday - layered fabric flower

I don't know about you but I love all the flowers that Prima brought out at CHA so much so that I couldn't wait so I decided to make my own layered flower. Here is what it looks like:

p1100045-copy-2

Its really easy to make:

1. Find a flower stamp or template or freehand draw the flower on fabric. I used a making memories foam stamp and stamped the flower with ink.

2. Cut the flower out.

3. Cut a circle out of mesh fabric and a smaller circle using another fabric.

4. Get the flower and either have it so the inked border is showing or turn it over like I have done and have no border. and using glue dots glue the mesh circle then the other fabric circle onto the flower.

5. Get a button and thread some twine or thread through the hole and add the button with a glue dot to the flower.

There are endless possibilities with these flowers considering how many different fabrics and buttons you can use. I almost cut up some kids jeans to make denim flowers :D . The fabric I used was $5 for the lot and it was a half a metre of each - I can make a lot of flowers with it so if you are on a budget and want to match your flowers perfectly with your layout this technique works well. You can also embellish them more or have more layers.

Heres my layout I created using the flowers:
