I went with CJ to the inline skate rink and put these on and stood up and in my mind I had visions off landing on my bum and took them off - I didnt like inline skates when I was younger much preferred roller skates. CJ didnt like it either so lucky it was free and it was wheels day and he had a bit of a ride on his bike.

A mini album

I was guest designer at Paper Pesto in October and did my projects for them and started on the album back then with the reminder of the kit - so I finally put the finishing touches to it. I have made it so it is like a reader so the inner pages are pretty basic for me. On the final page I have written what the album is about on a journalling block I made from scenic route paper and a spellbinder die that I got a set of from NZ Scrapbook with the promotion they had recently of one item for 50% off. I'm so glad I got this set they work so well through the cuttlebug. I want some round scallop ones now :).

A layout and day 16 - 18 photos

I decided to have a go at Primas Frugal scrapping challenge that is on their blog and created the following layout using packaging from their clear stamps and a transparency I bought last year.

p1090521-copy

The flourish, paper and clear flowers and title are all created using the clear stamp packaging while the paper behind the photo is the packaging paper from the transparency. The ribbon is a scrap left over from another layout and was originally a rak and the buttons from a pack of 100s. The cardstock is from a bulk pack from the warehouse. So if you dont include the cost of the items in the packaging this layout cost less then 30 cents including having the photo developed. I might just look at packaging more carefully before throwing it out!!

Im a bit behind in my photos so here are the last three days

Day 16

The kids were driving me crazy on Friday so this photo relates well (a xmas pressie from Katie)

p1090409

Day 17

Board game time - Monopoly has recently been introduced to the kids (katie and CJ are to young yet) but Brendan has already beaten me on his second game - though I'm no good at Monopoly - he is getting to know a few tricks.

p1090525

Day 18

After the rain today the kids went jumping on the trampoline - a bit difficult to catch a photo of them! Trampoline is a new addition and takes up half of the little bit of lawn we have.

Day 15 Photo

The kids and I went exploring a couple of parks/reserves today and the photo of the day is of a gaggle of geese by Lucas Creek.

Day 14 and do you want free papers?

Here is my photo for day fourteen - a newly opened rose by my bedroom window

p1090408

I was blog hoping and found this
Michelle, from Canada, is giving away 47 pieces of yummy patterned papers. Just leave a comment until Saturday, January 24, 2009 11:59PM (Mountain Standard Time). She'll ship those papers wherever you are!

365 Album

I was not going to do this but after seeing Becky Higgins free downloads I thought of an easier way to do my album saving me time. I am doing two mini photos on each 6 X 4 block other then the first day of the week which will have one photo. I will do the printouts of the photos every sixth day as I am printing it out using the collage function of Picasa I then crop the photos to 3X3. The journalling will just be a short description of the photo and I might do a monthly wrap up. The 6X4 blocks are double sided.

The First page

p1090413

The second page

p1090414

Edited : These 6X4 blocks are being put in 12 X 12 protective sleeves that are divided into 6X4 partitions which are side loading (where in the back of a fancy pants ring album I bought a while back

Scrap the Boys

I am so glad scrap the boys has restarted - I find scrapping boy layouts just a little trickier then girl ones and its great to have a bit more inspiration out there.
You can find Scrap the Boys here

and here is my layout for January's challenge which was to be inspired by their new banner.

Scrappin' Patch Emily Falconbridge Challenge

Part three of scrapping with the stars was to do an album Emily Falconbridge style and I decided to go down the art journal path as I received a hand made notebook from Trade Aid for Christmas from Christopher (he chose it for me) as well as some homemade paper. So lots of paint stamping tearing I created the following and had great fun doing so. (click on each image to see a larger image)

Mini album of Recipes

This is what I created for my Holiday Inspiration at Scrappin' Patch. Before Christmas Taristo Collections (an Australian kit company) had recipes on their blog that you could download and print out to put in a mini album so I decided to create one.

You can find these recipes on Taristos blog at http://www.tarisota.typepad.com
by searching the blog archives in December - there is a reference of the recipes in one of the columns on their blog but it only has photos and not the recipes. There are 25 recipes in total ranging from salads to shortbread. When you print them they come out in an 8X8 size. I have used a 6x6 album so had to adjust the size of my printouts.

Here is the front cover

Scrappin' Patch Fortnightly Challenge

They are back . Yes Scrappin' Patch fortnightly challenges are back and I'm the first one to set the challenge. I have chosen not to do a sketch but to chose a colour inspiration challenge.

So the challenge this fortnight is to do a layout using the colours of the forum ie brown, cream, orange, black, white and olive etc. You do not have to use all the colours. The close off for this challenge is midnight the 23rd of January.

Here is my layout

p1090178-copy
products used
Cratepaper and Sassafrass Lass papers, k and co chipboard, basic grey alphas, kaisercraft rubons and pearls, other unknown scraps of paper, fancy pants stamp.

My first post for 2009

Wow my first post for the year and we are into the second week. I have been doing my bug ATCs and real inchies and my Emily Falconbridge over at Scrappin Patch and two layouts so far. I can only show you one layout (I will show you my first one tomorrow).

Well I decided to join another forum where my sister is a guest designer at the moment - Direct 2 U scrapbooking in OZ. I signed up for a fun challenge and was picked to do a layout using three criteria forum members picked for me on the first day I was there! The criteria were to have three photos that were of treasured things not people(thanks Kim :) ), any colour except blue and brown(those are my staples!) and to include stitching. here is the layout no 2 for the year.

p1090177-copy

I also haven't shared my final layout for 2008 - it was to show my technique Tuesday over at Scrappin Patch - Using clear elements on layouts
