Scrapbook Savvy Technique Challenge for March

Marchs Technique challenge was to use a serviette and transparency. Firstly put mod podge on the transparency then lay the serviette on the transparency and add layer of mod podge.  Allow to dry then cut out the patterns you want.  The flowers and Butterflies were made using this technique. It makes a great embellishment and it could be easily layered to create a more dimensional layout.

I have used mainly Paper Pestos February kit to do this layout (the serviette was included).  The rubons were from their October kit.  The adhesive pearls are from Kaisercraft and the transparency is just a plain one. Journalling spot is Hambly studio rubon

NZ DARE 41

NZ Dare 41 was to do a layout using She quote from the link on their blog.  I did the layout of me in my early 20s. I have decided to do my BOM in A4 size as it is easy to work with and store.

A Challenge by Carol

Carol who I know from scrapbooking by design has posted a challenge on their forum for the easter weekend - a sketch challenge so I did it being the challenge Junkie I am. Thanks Carol a great sketch.

Scrapbooking by design sketch Challenge March

Here are two more takes on the sketch - so easy for those photos that have a smaller image on them and need to be cropped.  Have  great easter.

Scrapbook Essentials Fortnightly Sketch

This sketch was great to use I have used two photos on the right instead of one.

Scrap Savvy Ad Challenge

Yet another challenge from Scrap Savvy using an ad for inspiration. The ad was very clean cut and square - but not mine need some flourishes!!

A Paper Pesto layout to share

I originally was going to submit this layout but have done another which I thought was better.  I have used products from the March Paper pesto kit (which is gorgeous). I have even used a thread that was used to tie the bag of embellishments up -  recycling.  I coloured some of the flowers using american crafts glitter pens. So just a layout to share. The photo is of Katie on Browns Bay Beach last year.

Scrap Savvy Sketch Challenge

Here is another layout for Scrap Savvy challenges this month.  I decided to use some more of my older photos of Brendan almost six and half years ago.  He will be eight this year and is doing so well at school higher then his age in all areas - very proud of him.

By the way Kwick kliks is got some kits for sale they are limited edition and they look great - the site is listed at the top of my links go check it out.

I have made my first submission to a magazine so we shall see how that goes (I submitted it three times by accident they will think I am desperate:) )

March 123 Challenge

This months challenge was to use only black white and orange in your layout, use ribbon and have a one word title.
This little tigger suit has been used by all three of the kids and these photos are of Katie.
The products used are bazzill cardstock, basic grey paper, hambly grid transperency, tara road flowers, american craft ribbon and letters, lux design tag,  kaisercraft adhesive pearls, pebbles market tag and a new favourite product say it with crystals by prima.
I was lucky enough to win the February Monthly challenge at Scrapbox NZ and got a nice voucher to spend there - a few of the things on this layout have been bought using this voucher - Thanks Julie.

Paper pesto Sketch challenge no 2

Paper pesto has a new sketch challenge which you use products from their kits and here is my take.  It is of Brendan at Big boys toys last year.  I have used papers from the free spirit, on the pheriphery and painted summer kits .
The letters are from on the pheriphery and painted summer kits.  I painted the chipbord with the Heidi swapp paint in the painted summer kit. the journalling spot is a self stamped one.  Didnt use a lot of products as the paper is very busy - I have been trying to think how I could use the obscure paper and now finally have.

NZ DARE no 40 Dont you love it

A bit stumped with this one at first the dare was to use the words Dont you love it or dont ya love it or what I have done Don't cha love it and use 200+ words.  This is Kaitlyn on her first day at afternoon kindy and so my take was to say Don't cha love it when your kids ham it up for the camera - something which Katie is very good at!!

Christophers First day at school

Here is the little man on his first day (monday).  He was so excited and it was hard not getting a photo where he was not jumping around. He did well on the day and yesterday.  He is a bit tired today so should be interesting to see how he goes.

Scrapbooking by Design sketch Challenge March

Its Moniques turn to choose the sketch and it is a super easy sketch and I have so many photos to do this sketch.  But I chose one of Katies when she was a newborn (slowly getting through my older photos). The paper I have used is Rhonna Farrer with a splash of basic grey.  As you can see this is another layout with lots of "white space" slowly making the realisation that I don't have to cover the whole page for a layout to be effective.  Using distressed or fairly plain patterned paper as a background instead of cardstock makes it easy to do a simpler layout.  I think I am going to use this sketch for a few more layouts - thanks Monique
